Public Service Software

We believe that software and technology can make life better for everyone. We believe in the liberating power of technological progress. We believe that good technology, carefully applied, can make life better by giving us more and consuming fewer natural resources.

But it's no use if the people who need technology cannot afford it. We want you to use our software to make your life better, even if you don't have the budget.

We are committed to providing our software at zero-cost to all public service organisations. This includes:

• Registered Charities
• Non-Profit Organisations
• Government Bodies
• Academic Institutions

and we will consider license requests from any country.

If you work for a public service organisation, we are delighted to offer you our software under the terms of our Public Service License. This license is essentially the same as our Business License and allows anyone in your organization to use our software.

Please note that our Public Service License does not include source code and does not allow you to redistribute the CSV Manager binary as part of an open source software application or project. The intent of the license is to allow your organisation to benefit directly from CSV Manager, while maintaining the commercial licensing requirement for commercial organisations and software applications intended for third party distribution. We recommend the Ostermiller CSV parser as a GPL alternative which you can use in your own open source projects.

To obtain a public service license, all you have to do is send an email to publicservice@ricebridge.com. Please include details of your organization and also your website address so that we can confirm your credentials. Normally we will get back to you within one business day.

Please note that we will make a reasonable attempt to verify the identity and purpose of your organisation. Therefore, when contacting us, please use an email address from your organisation, and not from a free online email service.

Please note: we offer public service licenses at our sole discretion and not on the basis of the official status of your organization. While there is usually no problem, we may not be able to offer a public service license due to EU and Irish export regulations, or in cases which present an ethical dilemma for us.
